Fall Walleyes - Where to Find them

Fall is upon us here in Montreal and the walleye have already begun their seasonal fall migration. This means that at this time of the year you will find them congregating on the most obvious structures. The steeper the better. Look for points with very sharp dropoffs, if you're fishing reservoirs, look for the old river beds, or even look for the bottom of steep rock faces, dam walls, manmade structures are good, anything steep is likely to hold walleyes in the fall.

Look for them in 15 to 25 feet of water, fish them with jigs, right off the bottom. They will feed all day long, but as per usual twilight kicks ass, as other species begin sleeping or resting, the walleye starts hunting actively.
